POSITIONS:

  • PM-02: Junior Program Officer $68,849 to $74,180 
  • PM-03: Program Officer $73,798 to $79,511

Who can apply: Persons residing in Canada, and Canadian citizens and Permanent residents abroad, who self identify as a member of the following employment equity group: Indigenous peoples.

This inventory is exclusive to candidates who self-identify as Indigenous of Canada.

PROCESS INTENT

When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for current and future vacancies across Canada. As positions become available, applicants who meet the screening qualifications may be contacted for further assessment. 

This is a continuous intake to create and maintain an inventory, as well as, to establish partially assessed candidate pools for permanent or temporary opportunities that may arise. 

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (required for position)

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION (PM-02 and PM-03)

  • A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience*. 

*Experience may be gained through school, full-time or part-time employment, volunteer or charity work, work within your community or Native Friendship Centres, life experiences or similar areas.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE (required)

PM-02 and PM-03 - Junior Program Officers / Program Officers

  • Experience* following or applying rules found in guidelines or policies or legislation.
  • Experience* providing information or support or advice on a program or service. 

PM-03 - Program Officers

  •      Experience* collecting information or conducting research in digital or physical formats. 

*Experience may be gained through school, full-time or part-time employment, volunteer or charity work, work within your community or Native Friendship Centres, life experiences or similar areas.

     OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (PM-02 and PM-03)

Depending on the position being staffed, one or more of the following Operational Requirements(s) MAY apply:
 
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license or personal mobility to a degree normally associated with the possession of a driver’s license.
  • Willing and able to travel; this could include travel to remote locations and by small boats or small aircraft or automobile.
  • Willing and able to work overtime with short notice.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours.
  • Rotating assigned work week schedule as follows: Monday to Friday - 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on-call from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. on alternating days, weeks and on weekends. (This work schedule does not apply to all positions.)
  • Willing and able to travel to communities within Canada, as required.
  • Willing and able to work remotely.

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT (PM-02 and PM-03)

Reliability Status or Secret security clearance

Depending on the position being staffed, one or more of the following condition(s) of employment MAY apply:

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license or personal mobility to a degree normally associated with the possession of a driver’s license.
  • Rotating assigned work week schedule as follows: Monday to Friday - 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on-call from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. on alternating days, weeks and on weekends. (This work schedule does not apply to all positions.)
  • For certain positions, you may be required to occasionally travel to remote and/or isolated communities in small aircraft, off road vehicles or by boat in varied weather conditions.
  • Work standby, call back, overtime, and on weekends.
